When it comes to top-notch travel marketing tips, Vicky Eagle, the Head of Marketing at Serenity Travel, is definitely the expert you want to hear from!
During the second week of Mai’s work experience, we had the pleasure of inviting Vicky to share her career journey and insights into the world of travel marketing. She talked about her degree choice in PR & Business, her roles at Marriott and Portsmouth Historic Dockyard, and her experiences at IHG Hotels & Resorts and Southampton Airport, where she & Glow worked on some exciting campaigns, including the launch of easyJet.

After a brief period as an Account Director and Marketing Manager for Vistry Homes, Vicky found her way back to her true passion for travel and has been leading the marketing efforts at Serenity Travel for three years now. The company specialises in holidays to fantastic destinations like Gambia, Cape Verde, Goa, Sardinia, and Corsica, and the team gets to visit too! Vicky mentioned that the product manager for Gambia has visited an impressive 80 times!
Vicky also shared some insights about the challenges of navigating a competitive market with big players like Tui and easyJet, highlighting the importance of staying visible and tracking analytics.
Serenity’s marketing strategy revolves around three key pillars:
- Digital
- CRM and database nurturing
- Travel Agents
All have their place, all require different plans, sales strategies and metrics.
But, as Vicky says, travel marketing is a fabulous career – and with the likes of Sardinia, Corsica and the Gambia as destinations to visit, we certainly can’t argue with that!

Vicky ended our chat with three perfect tips, for Mai:
- Be Kind
- Work with people who are kind
- Ask if you don’t know the answer
Thank you so much Vicky, your insight, your passion and knowledge was so invaluable. Champion!
p.s. Tula cuddles mandatory!
