We created easyjet artwork for the escalators and stairs in West Quay Shopping Centre, Southampton.
One of Glow’s longstanding clients, Southampton Airport, was recently given the go ahead to brand the escalators and stairs in West Quay Shopping Centre, Southampton and called on the Glow team to design the artwork.
This is the first time the escalators have had any commercial advertising on them, so it was an exciting project as they sit so prominently in the shopping centre and at such a large scale.
Working with the team at Southampton Airport, we agreed to go for a ski slope theme, advertising their easyJet route from Southampton to Geneva. It’s exciting to work with such a well-known brand, but somewhat nerve-wracking when artwork is sent for approval and sign-off, as easyJet has some of the most comprehensive and detailed brand guidelines we’ve ever come across, and we’ve seen a few!
We stuck with vector-based artwork, in line with Southampton Airport’s brand styling and their current ski campaign – you may have recently had a ski campaign flyer through your door – this was also a Glow design.
With snowboarders, skiers, and even a chair lift, the design is fun and energetic, and works well with the movement of the escalator.
So if you’re heading to West Quay anytime soon, have fun pretending you’re hitting the slopes.
