For our final epic project of 2018, we want to talk about our long-standing client, Southampton Airport.
We’ve been supporting the marketing team at Southampton Airport since 2012 with Glow’s designs and creative copy for everything from large-scale terminal displays (have you seen the large window graphic next to the check-in desks?), presentations, brochures, press adverts, animations, digital banners and outdoor signage for the car parks. We also write lots of the destination copy!
We often joke that if you’re flying from Southampton, you don’t want anyone from Glow travelling with you as we’ll spend the whole time pointing out Glow’s creative designs in the terminal.
2018 has been an extra special year for the airport as it launched its Master Plan.
The draft Master Plan details how the airport plans to grow and continue to support the region over the next 20 years. It includes passenger forecasts and infrastructure requirements to meet the growing demand for air travel to and from the region. It also highlights the development of a runway starter extension as well as the expansion of the existing terminal building.
The airport is a key driver of the Hampshire economy and aims to support in excess of 1,500 jobs and contribute £400m to the economy per annum by 2037. Crucially, the Master Plan also details the way in which Southampton Airport plans to grow in a responsible and sustainable manner.
Working with this vibrant and attractive brand is great fun and we love creating new campaigns with Southampton Airport. There are always new exciting destinations to promote and exciting airport developments to put our creative brains to the test.
So, as we approach the end of 2018 we’ve already got more epic projects in the pipeline, with new and existing clients underway that we’ll be revealing later in the New Year.
But hey, even Glow elves can’t work all the time and we’ve got some serious eating, family fun and frolics to enjoy over the next week.
HAPPY CHRISTMAS! Thank you for your support this year and we’ll see you all on the other side 😊
And don’t forget, The Glow Studio is closed for Christmas from 4pm on Friday 21 December. We’ll be back, engines on and raring to go, 8:30am on Wednesday 2 January 2019.
