Christmas Campaign Design Refresh

Building on the design created last year, team Glow has given the Christmas campaign a refresh. We continued with the strong red theme; resonating with Southampton and developed the creative styling to include new vector-based imagery. The creatives promote activities going on around the city this Christmas.

Working with GO! Southampton, Glow created a fabulous suite of marketing deliverables to promote the Christmas activities programme. We designed the full Christmas campaign, including: social media headers, digital display posters, invites for the lights and story spectacular events, A1 signage maps plus fold-out pamphlets.

Christmas Lights Switch On

Starting off the Christmas fun, GO! Southampton played a key part for the city’s annual Christmas lights switch-on event on November 14.

Organised by GO! Southampton, in conjunction with Southampton City Council and The Marlands Shopping Centre, the festive theme of the evening was reminiscent of the Dickens classic ‘A Christmas Carol’ – focusing on Southampton’s past, present and future.

Southampton F.C fans were thrilled to see their favourite Saints stars, old and new, switch on the lights, including iconic former player and manager Lawrie McMenemy MBE.

Headlining the event was 90s favourites East 17, who performed a string of classic hits including It’s AlrightHouse of Love, and their 1994 Christmas smash-hit Stay Another Day.

Many other festive activities are planned in the city and make sure you take time to check out the return of Southampton’s ice rink. The rink is held within the Esplanade, next to the Medieval Walls and Westquay South and has been magically brought to life for the Christmas season. It’s truly spectacular.

Surely, it’s now time to open the sherry 😊.
