Twenty years ago, a talented and savvy web designer called Brett White partnered with Glow to deliver some excellent projects. Debbie and I knew then that he was going to achieve great things.

Fast forward to October 2026, and I had the huge pleasure of visiting Brett and his team at Peekaboo, at their office in Ryde on the Isle of Wight.

It was lovely to reconnect, see the business he’s built and spend time exchanging ideas about where our industry is heading. There was plenty to talk about.

A lot has changed in twenty years

Working in design and marketing means getting used to change. But looking back over two decades brings home just how much the landscape has shifted, particularly when it comes to websites.

Our conversation covered the future of websites, AI, design, creativity and operations. Big subjects, each with plenty of questions to explore.

What will businesses need from their websites? How might AI influence the way we work? Where can new approaches help us create better experiences or make our operations run more smoothly?

We chatted through lots and shared great ideas. Having the time and space to explore those questions with another creative team was a real pleasure.

The value of exchanging ideas

At Glow, we’ve always valued the connections we build through our work. Some lead to a single project; others stay with us for years and open up new possibilities further down the line.

This visit was a lovely reminder of that.

There’s something energising about getting together with people whose work you respect. You bring different experiences to the conversation, find common ground and leave with fresh things to think about.

With so much happening across design, technology and marketing, those conversations feel especially valuable. There are plenty of opportunities ahead, and sharing perspectives helps us consider what they could mean for our businesses and our clients.

Looking ahead to future collaborations

It’s an exciting landscape to be working in. If there’s an opportunity for Glow and Peekaboo to partner again, even better.

For now, it was simply brilliant to catch up with Brett, meet his team and reconnect with someone who was part of Glow’s story twenty years ago.

And the Isle of Wight sunshine was a very welcome bonus. Thank you to the Isle of Wight tourist board and Hovertravel for putting that on for me!
