In The Studio This Week: Southampton Airport Awards Logo

#InTheStudioThisWeek we’re excited to see the Awards logo we recently created for our long-standing client, Southampton Airport, being used for promotional purposes across social media. The sleek, James Bond themed logo will be the face of the prestigious event, which is held to celebrate excellence by both staff and business partners at the airport. This year the award ceremony will be held today, Friday 1stFebruary.

We have created brands for different events in previous years, using the bright Southampton Airport colour palette, however this year the client requested something completely different. They wanted a bold, yet suave logo which would reflect the theme of the evening event – ‘Bond’.

The design we created uses a characteristic, angled typeface, which takes inspiration from the 007 logo, with a thick white outline. This is paired with the addition of a cleverly integrated bow tie within the letter ‘W’. These design elements together make the logo mirror the appearance of a tuxedo (a fitting resemblance we think)! The use of a gold gradient and star vectors enhance the logo further and add a sense of glamour to the event.

We loved designing this fun and characterful logo! It’s truly time to start the celebrations and recognise the hard work that the Airport’s staff deliver throughout the year.
